Evening Land Vineyards in Oregon takes its poetic name from the ancient Greek myth of Elysium (the Elysian Fields) – the legendary “land of evening” said to lie far to the west, where the sun sets beyond the horizon.

It was a paradise for heroes and the righteous – a place of eternal spring, gentle light, and peace. There was no pain, no time, and no cares – only harmony, beauty, and serenity. For the ancient Greeks, Elysium represented not an end, but an ideal: a perfect, unattainable place where the soul finally finds its home.

This philosophy forms the foundation of the winery’s vision: to create not just wine, but a wine-moment – a drink that conveys a sense of the land, time, light, and tranquility.
