Interesting Fact:
Aside from Champagne, Crémant d'Alsace is the most successful sparkling wine appellation in France, producing around 21 million bottles of sparkling wine annually. As with other French sparkling wine regions, Crémant d'Alsace is made using the traditional Champagne method. The wine must age on its lees for at least 9 months to develop a complex bouquet. This extended aging imparts delicate notes of toasted white bread, nuts, and sometimes a hint of light, flinty smokiness.
